La Parguera Phosphorescent Bay is one of 2 unique locations in Puerto Rico where microscopic organisms that live in the water “shine” or “sparkle” when disturbed making this an incredible nightly attraction. Dark nights, with no moon are better, and light rain days, will let you see a lighted bay as sparkles touch the water !

Located around 20 minutes from Guánica, this protected mangrove bay can be visited on small tour boats ( service starts daily at 7:00m) in which spectators use their arms to stir the water creating trails of glowing blue, green or red ghostly figures.
